Do you plan abroad trips for anniversaries?
I haven’t had a client come to me yet to plan an anniversary trip abroad but I would LOVE TO! That sounds like so much fun and such a special to celebrate your marriage. It’s truly one of my passions to plan and organize and I would absolutely love to help you plan an anniversary trip! My husband and I love taking aniversarry trips and could not recommend them more. We went to Ireland for our three-year anniversary and Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Austria for our five-year anniversary. We had such an amazing time on each trip and I would love to help plan that experience for another couple!
What is the difference between a wedding planner, coordinator, and designer?
This is a great question that I get all the time. A wedding planner helps you organize and plan your wedding from start to finish. They help you find vendors and negotiate your contracts, set and stick to your budget, and assisting you to find your perfect venue. The best planners have a network of vendors to help you find all of the perfect fits for your dream wedding within your budget.
A wedding coordinator is similar to a wedding planner but operates on a smaller time frame. Wedding coordinators mostly assist you in the month leading up to your wedding and on the day of. Vendors and guests always have so many questions on wedding day and a coordinator is there to make sure they all get answered and the day runs smoothly. It is especially helpful to have a coordinator there on the day of your wedding to make sure everything runs on schedule and to keep stress levels down. A stressed-out bride is the last thing I ever want on wedding day!
A wedding designer is responsible for all things pretty at your wedding. From flowers to place settings, a designer is there to help you curate the most beautiful day. Another service that many wedding designers offer is styling your photos. Styled photos are personally one of my favorite things about wedding days (so much so I turned it into an extension of my business!)
But Lucky for you, I do all THREE! My planning services included planning, coordinating, and styling! Be sure to check out my services page to see everything I offer my brides.
What is the most expensive part of planning a wedding?
The most expensive part of a wedding is typically the scale of your wedding and the number of guests you want to have there. The size of your wedding really determines the cost of the entire day. The more guests you have, the more expensive everything is going to be. With more guests comes more money you need to allocate to food, alcohol, chairs, flowers, venue space, etc. This is one of the biggest shocks to my brides when we start working together and one of the reasons weddings can get so expensive. I always recommend to my brides that they take their budget into account when planning their guest list.
How far out should I plan my wedding? Is nine months too short?
The timeframe for every wedding is always going to be a little different. Typically, the more particular you are with your vendors or venue, the more time it takes to plan and make sure that all your preferences are available on your wedding date. If you are less particular with your vendors, you can get your wedding planned in less time. I have planned a wedding in six months, so nine is definitely possible! However, most of my brides plan their weddings about a year in advance. I will say that it’s especially helpful to have a wedding planner when you are working on a shorter time frame.
What has been your favorite part of wedding planning?
My favorite part of wedding planning has definitely been all the amazing brides I get to work with - they truly get to be some of my best friends! Working on weddings is such an intimate and special thing that I get to be a part of. I always feel so lucky that this is what I get to spend my time doing. My heart is so happy at the end of wedding days after seeing the day come together perfectly and months of planning come to fruition.
